Philp W. Halstead, M.D., a classically trained internist, is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Mass.

After completing his internship and residency at the Faulkner Hospital in Boston, he served two years as a Medical Officer in the United States Air Force. It was during this time that he developed an interest in alternative treatment modalities for his patients, particularly in the area of nutritiion. Through the integration of conventional treatments with diet, exercise and supplementation programs for his patients, Dr. Halstead began to notice much more favorable outcomes.

Since coming to Maryland in 1996, Dr. Halstead has continued to expand his practice to include bio-identical hormone replacement and IV vitamin and chelation therapy. It is Dr. Halstead's theory that the body has tremendous ability to heal itself, and as a physician/healer believes it to be his duty to nurture and maximize this extaordinary characteristic. Dr. Halstead treats many common diseases and ailments including hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, cancer and heart disease through Integrative Medicine, a healthy blend of traditional and complementary modalities. Dr. Halstead is Board Certified in Holistic Medicine and is a Certified Nutrition Specialist.
